*Don't forget the clocks go back the weekend of the British Indoor Rowing Championship, this means we all have an extra hour in bed the night before the event - take advantage of this, don't arrive too early for your race!

Entry for spectators is free, so bring as many supporters as you can!

Some BIRC Facts

  • This year will be the 18th BIRC and the eighth consecutive year hosted at the NIA
  • It is the world's largest indoor rowing race
  • It is Britain's largest participatory indoor sports event
  • Competitors ranging in age from 10-85
  • BIRC offers race categories for each of the male and female paralympic rowing categories for seniors as well as juniors
  • For the third year BIRC also offers FES (Functional Electrical Stimulation) categories for paraplegics to compete
  • The biggest growth area is juniors - representing 41% of individuals (figures from 2007)
