Individual Rules
2000 Meters
All 2000 meter record-breaking times must be rowed at a Concept2 sanctioned indoor rowing event with witnesses present. In addition all 2000 meter record-breaking times must be rowed on Concept2 Indoor Rowers without Slides
Other Distances
All other record-breaking pieces must meet at least one (1) of the following requirements:
- rowed in public with witnesses present who can be reached if we want confirmation of the performance - “public” defined as health club, fitness center, rowing club, indoor rowing race, trade show or regatta where Concept2 is present, school, university or special event in a public setting (ie, fundraiser in a mall, etc)
- rowed with a PM3 with a verification code
- rowed using RowPro (file can be downloaded to our site directly for verification)
- videotape of row
Lightweights
Additionally, in accordance with regulations from on-water events and indoor rowing championships around the world, lightweights must be weighed in no earlier than two(2) hours before their race. Records from lightweights weighed prior to two(2) hours before their race will not be recognized.
All records must be performed on a Concept 2 Indoor Rower. The air resistance level may be set to an individual preference but cannot be altered during the row.
Weight classes
Lwt men: 75kg (11st 11lbs) or less
Hwt men: over 75kg (11st 11lbs)
Lwt women: 61.5kg (9st 9lbs) or less
Hwt women: over 61.5kg (9st 9lbs)
Team Rules
100,000 Metre Teams
- There may be up to 10 rowers in each team.
- Mixed teams must consist of at least one third women i.e. one women and up to two men, two women and up to four men, three women and up to six men or four women and up to six men.
- An additional two people may assist in the changeover between team members
Marathon and Half Marathon Teams
- There may be from 2 to 4 rowers in each team.
- The minimum interval performed each time by a rower must be 2,000 metres for the marathon and 1,000 metres for the half marathon.
- Only participating team members may assist in the changeover between team members
- For mixed teams, there must be an equal number of men and women.
One Hour Teams
- There may be from 2 to 4 rowers in each team.
- Only participating team members may assist in the changeover between team members
- For mixed teams, there must be an equal number of men and women.
